PREDECESSORS' WARNINGS |
Adam Smith
"The statesman who should attempt to direct private people in what manner they ought to employ their capitals, would not only load himself with a most unnecessary attention, but assume an authority which could be safely trusted to no council and senate whatever, and which would nowhere be more dangerous as in the hands of a man who had folly and presumption enough to fancy himself fit to exercise it."
Hilaire Belloc
"The control of the production of wealth is the control of human life itself."
Lord Acton
"The finest opportunity ever given to the world was thrown away because the passion for equality made vain the hope for freedom."
Justice Louis Brandeis
"Experience should teach us to be most on our guard to protect liberty when the government's purposes are beneficial.... dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well meaning but without understanding."
Milton Friedman
"When everybody owns something, nobody owns it, and nobody has a direct interest in maintaining or improving its condition."
Vaclav Klaus
"I am therefore convinced that fighting for freedom and free markets, something we always appreciated... remains the task of the day."
Mark Levin
"For the Statist, there must be a class struggle and it must be a never ending struggle, for it is perhaps his most valuable weapon in his war against the individual, the free market, and ultimately the civil society."

| SOCIALISM DESTROYS THE INDIVIDUAL
|
HOW CAN YOU HELP? |
What Is Socialism?
Socialism has been defined and practiced numerous ways over the last two centuries, ranging from the murderous regimes of Stalin and Hitler to the "peaceful" European brands of today. In the end, socialism of any flavor can be narrowed down to one critical concept: the so-called "common good" trumps your rights as an individual. Always. In a socialist society, whether communist or European style, your life's opportunities and independence become controlled by and subserviate to the wishes of the State - under the threat of force.
How Does Socialism Get Started?
How does socialism take root in society? That depends on the time and place being discussed. Sometimes socialism takes root through revolution, but in the modern Western world the most common tactic is through implementation of policy under guise of a "crisis," usually during times of economic stagnation. Sadly, people can be coerced into exchanging their liberty for promises of government intervention on their behalf - and Americans are no different. The growing threat to the United States' becoming an outright socialist state rests within four primary realms:
1.) Government's decades long attempt to create increased classes of state dependent citizens, manifesting widespread institutionalization.
2.) Growing quantities of citizens devoid of political philosophy, lacking basic constitutional and government knowledge
3.) Increasing belief that the State is responsible for the economy, insurance, health, society rebuilds after calamity, and retirement.
4.) Fractured societal(racial, ethnic, class, etc) infighting whereby each group attempts to enforce its will on another via State imposition.
Capitalism, Our Constitution and The Freedom of Self Pursuit
In a society committed to the concepts of individual liberty socialism dies like a virus detached from its host . Our country's founders knew that the only way to avoid social tyranny was to guarantee the rights of the individual, establishing systems designed to keep fascism, tyranny and authoritarism at bay. Free trade, a representative republic, multiple branches of government, the bill of rights, constitutional prohibitions against the State assaulting individuals, and capitalistic economic principles protect each person from succumbing to the will of mob rule.

IT'S A FACT.
|
Fascist Socialists Deplore American Style Capitalism
Fascists pepper modern history, Hitler being the most famous of the last 100 years. The most dangerous fascists share similar characteristics including cult like admiration, anti free trade mindsets, punishing tax policies, authoritarian rule, disregard or intolerance of constitutional restrictions, disdain of reason, calls to sacrifice, and frequent attempts to sieze or control important industries and national work output. Our nation's founders PURPOSELY established a system whereby each individual's work and productivity belonged to himself or herself - not the State.
