Russia, N. Korea & China Equipped with nuclear submarines, fission bombs, fusion bombs, chemical weapons and vast armies, these three nations share more values than not - clear threats to freedom loving nations everywhere. Cuba, Venezuela & Mexico Cuba and Venezuela, communist and socialist friends of Russia, could serve as missile and fission based weapons bases should any administration go soft on defense. Mexico presents a plethora of challenges to our national defense capabilities including porous borders, unstable and corrupt government structures, and a pathway for insurgents from other nations. Pakistan & India Vociferous enemies and both nuclear capable, India and Pakistan could one day explode into a serious war forcing the United States' hand one way or the other. Israel & The Middle East Israel, a nuclear power, stands alone as an island of commerce, freedom & civility in an otherwise Medieval area of the world. Some government officials seek to weaken this critical friend and strategic ally vainly hoping to curry favor with our enemies in the region. Foolish, wistful & downright naive, such actions undermine our relationship with Israel, bolster our enemies and put millions at risk. Guerrila Terrorism The fractured nature of terrorists proves both positive and negative. On one hand their decentralized structure limits resources and, therefore, strategies and firepower. On the other hand, this same structure makes tracking their movements problematic and harder to prevent isolated attacks, including chemical or nuclear detonations. |

No Room For Error. Ever In the movie, The Peacemaker, Nicole Kidman proclaims that she isn't afraid of a country seeking many nuclear weapons; rather, she's terrified of the man who wants "just one." This is our reality. In the nuclear age a single mistake cannot be tolerated given the grave outcome. The United States must pursue preventative policies to keep nuclear, biological and chemical weapons out of rogue hands. Domestic Spying Is Done Every Day Local, state & federal law enforcement agencies "spy" on suspected bad guys (and girls) each day of the week, so what's the uproar over "domestic spying?" Perception and reality. The term "domestic spying" carries negative connotations, suggesting the government is watching over each of us like "big brother," a practical impossibility given our vast population. That said, the federal government needs more than good cause to monitor any citizen, it needs actual cause directly related to a national security concern. For example, if a known or suspected Saudi Arabian terrorist makes phone calls or transfers money into the United States we need to find out why. If a US citizen makes phone calls to that same terrorist or transfers cash to a known terrorist's account we need to know why. Both circumstances demonstrate actual cause. Choosing to ignore threats by discontinuing or softening intelligence puts every American at risk - Democrat or Republican. Strong Overseas Terrorist Intelligence Some DC politicians seem to advocate burying our head in the sand as a terror prevention strategy. Others hope to offset ill-will towards The US and our allies by apologizing or isolating ourselves from overseas activities. Both idealic mindsets guarantee harm to our nation eventually. Why? Because terrorists who wish us harm see our society through the eyes of their faith, not reason. In their minds they are at war, their faith calling for them to eliminate non-believers including the US, Israel and other Westernized cultures. Constitutional Obligation to Provide Defense Our founders knew that as world powers rise and fall threats to our nation change. Ignoring current and future dangers not only puts all US citizens at risk, it's wildly irresponsible and a dereliction of each congressional member's duty. Many nations, especially nations at odds with our way of life, bolster their military capabilities with nuclear, chemical, biological, and conventional arsenals. Politically expedient or not... we must stay ahead of all nations capabilities. It's our responsibility. |
