CIVIL LAWS & NANNY-ISM
Codes, Codes & More Codes
Have you taken time to consider the quantity (and associated cost) of civil codes regulating your life? The United States can no longer claim to be the Land of the Free... perhaps the Land of the Regulated, but definitely not the Land of the Free.

Social Power or State Power
Some time not too far into our nation's past people worked out issues between themselves through our commitment to social power. Today, we turn to the state to solve big and small problems alike.

Need some examples? Do you attempt to remedy neighborhood disputes, child rearing problems, divorce issues, unemployment, debt problems, and noise concerns or do you contact police, petition courts and approach government agencies to resolve your life's challenges?

As our society becomes less inclined to work together we assign more power to state and government services accelerating our plummet into totalitarianism or, as a Russian newspaper article recently observed, our "breath-taking decent into Marxism."

Stopping The Acceleration
Every trend eventually reaches critical mass whereby sheer momentum makes turning back altogether impossible. While it's our opinion the United States can still stem Statism's powerful surge, the times and attitudes of apathetic or undereducated Americans deserve scrutiny and principled pushback by those who understand the final toll of our surrender to State control.

Take a stand against socialism and statism. Educate, influence, and warn your friends, family and associates of the final destination awaiting us all. Attend our assemblies to learn how.
LAWS ARE REPLACING COMMON SENSE AND GOOD JUDGMENT
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Overcriminalization
According to the Heritage Foundation, the number of federal crimes totals at least 4,450 - including 445 new crimes added since 2007, or about 1 new federal crime every other business day. Include the countless crimes added to each state's books annually and your chances of running afoul (whether intentional or not) of a law you may or may not know exists increases dramatically.

Our incarceration rate eclipses every other nation by a sizeable margin. Figures from year ending 2006 show that our nation jails 738 out of every 100,000 citizens, or 1 out of every 135 people.

Criminalizing Accidents
Each time an unfortunate event occurs citizens and lawmakers alike exclaim "something must be done," vainly efforting to prevent similar accidents. Financial loss, car accidents, home accidents, construction accidents, misspeaking under grand jury testimony about a crime you aren't being charged with, and unforeseen events of all types can land you in jail.

Punishing Integrity and Honesty
Have you been in a situation where you might have caused an unforeseen issue at work or elsewhere? Perhaps you've caused an accident or used bad judgment which resulted in modest damages or harm. Maybe you or your child has committed a minor or modest crime. In today's America, accepting responsibility for your actions carries significant, unjustified personal risk which deters otherwise decent people from owning up to their errors.

Micro Criminalization
New laws, manipulations of laws, and classes of crimes put district attorneys and the accused in comprimising positions. For example, an individual finds themselves in a physical altercation... not too long ago a fight would have been chalked up to being just a fight. Today, in some jurisdictions, you could find yourself charged with assault and battery, hate crimes, and if you say the wrong thing - terrorist threats.

Intimidation Through Counts
District attorneys routinely elicit plea bargains by charging defendents with multiple counts for the same crime, each count carrying with it its own imprisonment and/or fine requirements. For example, an individual who sells marijuana to 10 different people could not only face myriad types of charges, but be confronted with 10 counts of dealing drugs. If each count carries the potential of 3 years in prison the defendant is facing 30 years of prison time - excluding the other types of crimes he/she would be charged with. Have they committed a crime? Yes. Are the acts worthy of 30 years? What say you?
